Therapy or Coaching?
Two different doors into the same work.
Everything we offer serves one transformation: helping you become a better navigator of your own life. Therapy and coaching are two different ways into that work. Neither is better than the other -- they answer different needs, and they carry different professional standards.
A useful shorthand: therapy tends to begin with acceptance of what is -- pain, patterns, relationships, and history. Coaching tends to begin with exploration of what could be -- direction, decisions, and growth. Both start from reality. Neither skips it.
Therapy
Navigating inner and relational terrain
- Clinical assessment of what you are experiencing
- Diagnosis, when appropriate
- Treatment for mental-health concerns
- A licensed clinical relationship with professional standards
- Clinical documentation and confidentiality protections
- Location and licensure restrictions -- therapy clients must be located in Georgia
Individual, couples, and family therapy are licensed clinical services, provided through telehealth to clients located in Georgia.
Coaching
Navigating chosen terrain
- Goals and the accountability to pursue them
- Strategy and decision-making support
- Direction when the path forward is unclear
- Leadership and career development
- Personal development and intentional growth
Career, executive, and life coaching are forward-focused, non-clinical services. Coaching does not include diagnosis, clinical treatment, or emergency mental-health care.
What they share
The common ground
Clarity about what is actually happening
Growth and self-awareness
Understanding your patterns
Thoughtful decision-making
Intentional action
One boundary that matters
Coaching is not psychotherapy, and it should never be used as a substitute for needed mental-health treatment. If you are working with significant anxiety, depression, trauma, or grief, therapy is usually the right starting point -- and starting there is a sign of wisdom, not weakness.
If you begin in one and the other would serve you better, we will tell you honestly. Movement between them is decided by what you need -- never by anything else.
If you are in crisis or need immediate support, please start with our crisis resources rather than a consultation request.
